Curriculum
Angela Maria Scarparo, but also simply Daniela…
She defines herself as a person of multiple shades, starting from her name. For some, Angela, for others, Angela Maria and for others, simply Daniela … Omen nomen, said the ancients, and perhaps for this artist, the variety in her names enriches and emphasizes creativity.
With her husband Antonio and her son Riccardo plus two pets (Ettore and Neve), Daniela lives in Abano Terme, a town at the foot of the Euganean Hills, in the province of Padua, which is where her study is based.
In her strong desire to experiment with materials and colours, she was into painting even as a child, and used her savings to buy paintbrushes and tubes of paint, obtaining even at a very young age, prizes and recognition awards.
Her attendance at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice was of cardinal importance, as was her training with the great masters Emilio Vedova, Edmondo Bacci, Cesco Magnolato, from whom Angela Scarparo inherited the power of graphic signs as well as the evocative and narrative strength of colours. Thanks to them, she has also found further stimuli to her continuous need for research and the love of limitlessness in all that is possible.
Her years at the International School of Graphic Design were the successful completion of her training.
Her Curriculum of studies enabled her to obtain a qualification for the teaching of art and painting techniques and to specialise in chalcography, lithography, xylography, silkscreen painting, in carpet-making applying the hand tufted technique, in silk decorating by using classical, oriental as well as experimental techniques. In this field, an enlightening meeting with Aurora Papafava, an expert in art and fabric painting, helped her to explore further her interest in silk decorating and to open the doors to the mastery of the technique she uses today for silk painting and for the creation of jewels and accessories.
She is a member of the National Association of Engravers, has also been the President of the cultural Association “Segno Grafico per la Stampa d’Arte Contemporanea” based in Venice and figures among the contemporary artists in the records of twentieth century Modern Art of the Kunsthistorisches Institute in Florence.
